Michael Caine in full Get Carter mode comes over all stroppy in this excellent thriller. He plays secret service agent John Tarrant who is determined to track the kidnappers of his son who is being held for ransom over a fortune in diamonds. With no one to count on but himself Caine decides to turn vigilante. Directed by the famed Don Siegal and co-starring such stalwarts as Janet Suzman, Joss Ackland and Donald Pleasence, this is one of Caine's better seventies efforts.
