ABOUT FACE
UK / ITV Network - Central / 12x30m-e / 1989 & 1991
Executive Producer: Tony Wolfe / Producers: John Henderson(season 1) , Johnny Goodman(season 2) / Director: John Henderson
Given that Maureen Lipman has long been one of the UK's most familiar faces she has never really had too many chances to headline her own material; There was Agony in the late 70's of course and then there was About Face, from 1989 and again in 1991 which allowed Lipman room to excel in 12 one off individual comedies written by some major names indeed, including the likes of Lipman's husband Jack Rosenthal as well as Richard Harris, Geoffrey Perkins and John Well. The show also had high quality guest stars, amongst them Michael Gambon, Michael Jayston, Diana Weston, John Wells (as Denis Thatcher to Maureen's Margaret), Keith Barron and Bernard Hill.
