Animal lifestyle show that followed Northern Territory flying vet Peter Trembath as he roved over his practice which covered an area of 500,000 square metres. Trembath dealt with not only exotic animals but household pets too.

Documentary series looking at the problems faced by many migrants.

 

FOLKMOOT

Music show dedicated to folk tunes and performers and supposedly broadcast from the cellar of a coffee shop. Hosted by Leonard Teale.

 

FOLLOWING THE RABBIT PROOF FENCE

9 Network / 1x60m-e / 2002

Documentary going behind the scenes of Philip Noyce's film Rabbit Proof Fence (which followed the true stories of three half caste "stolen" Aboriginal girls and their escape from their settlement and return home to Jigalong). The documentary used footage shot by various members of the crew as well as Noyce's daughter.

 

FOOTBALL QUIZ

10 Network / x30m-e / 1971

Friday evening at 7.00pm footy quiz in which Rugby League stars were quizzed on their football knowledge. Hosted by Don Lane and shown directly before Lane's Look at the League.

 

THE FOOTY SHOW 

9 Network / x60minutes / 1994-continuing  

Prime time rugby league/aussie rules variety show that is networked nationally with the two different formats. 

The aussie rules version screens in Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory and is hosted by footy commentator and Collingwood FC president (& Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host, among other things) Eddie McGuire, former footballer John 'Sam' Newman, comedian Trevor Marmelaide with a panel made up of current and former star players. 

The rugby league version screens in in the rugby league heartland of New South Wales and Queensland. It's been hosted by Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin and Peter ‘Sterlo’ Sterling since the start but they were joined in 2001 by Newcastle legend Paul ‘The Chief’ Harragon, the boys made one more addition to the show in 2003 - Matthew Johns, a regular contributor and mate of the show.

Public debate show chaired by Professor Brin (father of Olivia) Newton-John. Revived by SBS in 1980 (60 minute episodes) with Mike Schildberg and Paul Griffiths.

 

FOUR CORNERS

ABC / x30m-e / 1961-continuing

Long running current affairs show that began on 19 August 1961. The idea was to create a kind of Australian Panorama (the UK's long running current affairs show). The first presenter was Michael Charlton, other hosts include Richard Carleton, Mike Willesee, Caroline Jones, Ray Martin, Paul Lyneham, Paul Barry, Kerry O'Brien and David Marr. On Monday 20 August 2001 there was a 90 minute special celebrating 40 years of the show. The show won its first logie in 1962.

 

FOUR FOR THE SHOW

Variety series that featured Michael Cole, Stuart Finch, Judy Banks and Shirley Summers. Music was by Jimmy Gussey and the ABC Dance Band.

A gameshow based on a radio original in which five fugitives around the country are tracked down (or not as the case may be) by members of the public, still heavily tied in with the radio show (heard on various stations across the country). The prize for finding the fugitive varied from $10,000 to $100,000 and hosted by Matt Tilley. Each edition, the Fugitive, in disguise, had to perform a task, without being uncovered.
