Novel: Jon Cleary

Drama series with much of the plot centering around a young woman's love affair with an army deserter at the height of the

A highly notable Australian production 'Corners' caused a certain amount of controversy because of, for the time, a frank love scene between the two leads Frank and Margie (the scene in question involved Frank running his hand up Margie's skirt and the pair indulging in some serious kissing action). Many stations around Australia cut the scene but several others, including Adelaide, allowed it to run realizing its was an important part of the development of the characters. A film version was also released in 1969 a co-production between Universal and ATN (the first full length feature film made by a local Australian TV station) with the TV leads also taking starring roles in the movie version.

Guest stars included the likes of Sam Neill, Sigrid Thornton, Rod Mullinar, Peter Sumner, Briony Behets and Penne Hackforth Jones.
