BEYOND THE BULL

Australia... Sundays at 8.30pm from September 3 on Discovery Travel & Living

"It’s not if you get hurt, but when. And how bad

Australian bull rider Brendon Clark takes on the questionably mad world of professional bull riding in the television premiere series Beyond the Bull, exclusive to Discovery Travel & Living.

This ten-part series follows three of the world’s top riders as they compete on the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuit.  Meet two-time PBR champion, Brazilian Adriano Moraes, American Cattle Rancher J.W. Hart, and Australian newcomer Brendon Clark, who, at the young age of 25, has moved from his family home in rural NSW to pursue his dream of becoming a champion on the US circuit.

Competing in a field of 45 of the world’s best riders, watch Moraes, Hart and Clark battle their 900 kilogram opponents, and each other, for a chance at the title and a cash prize of US$1 million.  The circuit, however, is fraught with danger as broken bones and life-threatening moments are an all too common part of this extreme profession.

Coming into the competition with an injury for the first time in his career, Clark battles with the highs and lows of successive professional losses, but also with the strains of living away from home and his somewhat rocky relationship with his girlfriend Anna.  Then there’s newly-engaged Hart, who says he won’t stop until he reaches the championship pinnacle, yet is getting somewhat distracted by his upcoming wedding to fiancée LeeAnn.  And finally – the legend of the arena, Moraes, who is vying for an unprecedented third gold buckle, but has begun to feel fear for the first time in his career.

As Beyond the Bull uncovers, these boys play by their own rules, both in and out of the international arena.  But with a litany of broken bones and broken pride in their wake, these boys sacrifice almost everything to realise their dreams.
