You Can't See Around Corners

Drama series You Can’t See Around Corners saw much of it’s plot centering around a young woman’s love affair with an army deserter at the height of the Vietnam war.

A highly notable Australian production ‘Corners’ caused a certain amount of controversy because of, for the time, a frank love scene between the two leads Frank and Margie (the scene in question involved Frank running his hand up Margie’s skirt and the pair indulging in some serious kissing action, tame by todays standards but pushing the boundaries back then).

Many stations around Australia cut the scene but several others, including Adelaide, allowed it to run realizing its was an important part of the development of the characters.

A film version was also released in 1969 (the pic above is from the movie version) a co-production between Universal and ATN (the first full length feature film made by a local Australian TV station) with the TV leads also taking starring roles in the movie version.
