THE THIRTY NINE STEPS
Don't miss a full on period version of John Buchan's classic novel The Thirty Nine Steps when it airs this Sunday 18 October @ 8.30pm on ABC1. It is just prior to the outbreak of World War One and Richard Hannay (Rupert Penry Jones) is plunged headlong into a world of secret service agents and attacks on his life when a notebook with proof of a German spy ring working out of Scotland, falls into his hands. On the run accused of a murder he didn't commit, Hannay heads to Scotland to try and get to the bottom of events, uncover the spy ring and prove his innocence in the process. CHRIS LILLEY'S ANGRY BOYS IN PRODUCTION
He's Australia's brightest comedic talent and like they did with Ricky Gervais America's top flight HBO channel have teamed up with Lilley (and the ABC) to bring us his new, much anticipated, series Angry Boys! Pre-production on the 12 episode series begins on 5 October and like his previous classics We Can Be Heroes and Summer Heights High Angry Boys will make use of the faux documentary style that Lilley has made his own. Lilley says he has been germinating the series for quite some time now and is relishing the chance of working on a longer run of episodes. Dirt Game, which premiers on ABC1 on Sunday 19 April at 8.30pm is a dramatic and strong new drama series set in the world of Mining. The series follows the fortunes of the staff of mining company Cockatoo Creek Resources which is on the verge of collapse.
