...Formula One's Australian viewers get raw deal from the Ten Network...
We are big fans of Formula One here at memorabletv, it's the best soap opera this side of Dynasty. However Australian viewers are constantly short changed when it comes to television coverage of what is officially the most watched sport in the world. Channel 10, who have the broadcast rights to the series, have a curious attitude when it comes to showing the races. full story...


This Sunday night at exactly 6.29pm there will be a rare moment indeed for Australian TV viewers when every free-to-air TV channel screens at the same time a new one minute promo featuring some of the most incredible moments seen on terrestrial TV down the years, everthing from incredible news footage to favourite TV shows. From Sporting legends to political upheaval. The promo will across SBS, ABC, Prime, Seven, Southern Cross, Ten, Win and of course all of their regional affiliations. Next sees the official arrival of Freeview, there are already five extra channels on digital (ABC2, SBS2, Seven HD, Nine HD and ONE) with lots more to arrive over the next 12 months.


SHANE CONNOR ON DIRT GAME
Dirt Game, which premiers on ABC1 on Sunday 19 April at 8.30pm is a dramatic and strong new drama series set in the world of Mining. The series follows the fortunes of the staff of mining company Cockatoo Creek Resources which is on the verge of collapse. The all star cast includes Joel Edgerton, Shane Connor, Freya Stafford, Katie Wall and Gerald Lepkowski. We recently chatted to Shane Connor about the making of the show. full story...

THE GRUEN TRANSFER
Not content with being one of the best shows on Australian TV, The Gruen Transfer format has now been sold to most of Europe with the ABC's commercial division signing deals with Endemol France, Fremantle Portugal, ONTV Spain, Nordisk Film Denmark, Rapid Blue South Africa plus sales to UK and Italy. These deals follow on from sales to Endemol for the Netherlands and New Zealand’s Imagination Television, and a successful launch at MIPCOM last year. Read More...

LEAD BALLOON
One of the funniest BBC sitcoms of the last couple of years comes to the ABC. Showing on Tuesday nights at 8.00pm the show, co-written by and starring the excellent Jack Dee, the show follows middle aged stand up comic Rick Spleen as he tries to cope with a flagging career - once reasonably popular he is now reduced to helming corporate events, making guest spots on daytime shows and fronting dodgy comedy dvds.
