The couples (who had a five hundred pound budget to work with) generally liked their new rooms although sometimes there were tears when the room was not how they thought it would be. The show has spawned versions in Australia, New Zealand, Holland and other countries besides. In 2000 a fifty minute documentary about the show was broadcast. The 2002 season commenced on 25 February (6x30m-e). For season 9 it was announced that key designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen had replaced Carol Smillie as host.
