Medical drama series. Spin off from Casualty focusing on the surgical ward department of the hospital. The two shows occasionally crossed over with a patient appearing in the A&E department then being transferred to the ward. Charlie as an adult found himself caught up in the horrors of world war one and then struggles to survive throughout the depressed 1920's, he marries Ann and becomes in involved in the General Strike before having to go through another world war and it's aftermath and the changing face of the East End and the loss of community. Teen soap. Episodes in the lives of group of teenagers living in the well off suburb of Chester in Merseyside. The show is never shy from tackling the big issues and occasionally moves from its early evening slot to a later one if it is dealing with a particularly sensitive subject. On 22 January 2002 (at 11.05am) a special 90 minue edition of Hollyoaks previously released as a direct to video special and titled HOLLYOAKS: INDECENT BEHAVIOUR was aired (Writer: Richard Burke / Director: David Richardson). The number of episodes per week gradually increased and in November 2003 it went 5 nights a week - in that same week a special late night edition was also shown entitled Hollyoaks: Leap of Faith. HOLLYOAKS: AFTER HOURS (
