The major fund raising experience in aid of famine relief organised by Bob Geldof following on from the various charity singles (Do They Know Its Christmas in the UK and We Are The World in the US). The show was two pronged, held at Wembley stadium and half in Philadelphia. Status Quo opened the show, Queen are acknowledged to have given the best performance. Phil Collins appeared at both venues, playing at Wembley then flying on Concorde to perform in Philadelphia. Most major stars of the day performed.
