THE CAT WHO LOOKED AT THE SKY by Thea Welsh
Publishers: Flamingo

Reviewer: Danni

The Cat Who Looked at the Sky is the story of Three Cats, Two Households and the great truths of life, and if you are a feline admirer then this sweet little memoir is going to make your holidays. The author, Thea Welsh and her partner, Michael live on the outskirts of Sydney  in the middle of a terraced metropolitan city and have freeloading puss-cats that integrate themselves into their lives on a daily basis, cats that are technically owned by neighbouring households, but who actually accommodate themselves to all who offer them the temporarily nicest place to lay their charms and nibble of a little delicacy if there happens to be one available at this particular abode they have found themselves in.
After their dearly departed “Pusscat” is too terribly missed and next door’s cat, GB, gets moved on by his real owners, Thea and Michael have a dinner party with their good friends, Ron and Robin. This gathering is the beginning of fuzzy things. The foursome decide somewhat vaguely that they are going to adopt a pair of kittens, watch them grow into fine lovely cats and through all of this, time share the cats between their two households. What ensues is a delightful and engaging tale written with humour and honesty that is full of affectionate cat drama.
This witty book will appeal to the 50% of the population that are dedicated cat lovers and the other 50% of us that just like to hear a great tail ;-)
