A
very juicy little read is this
book from Lisa Brandt dishing
the dirt as it does on all
manner of Hollywood celebrities
and history makers and shakers,
whether it be people such as
Farrah Fawcett or Mariah Carey
disgracing themselves on
national TV or Matthew
McConaughey being arrested for
playing his bongoes in the nude
its all here. There are also
mentions for such scandals from
the oast as Oscar Wilde.
Whilst
some of the stories are familiar
from the tabloid mags and the
internet its still very handy to
have them all collected into a
single volume and there is some
intriguing stuff contained
within the books pages too
especially the “curse of
different strokes” material -
all the young leads from that TV
show have had calamities befall
them, Todd “Willis” Bridges
was accused of assault with a
deadly weapon and attempted
murder of a Los Angeles drug
dealer, Gary “Arnold”
Coleman had trouble with
bankruptcy and a fight with a
fan in a shopping mall (where he
was working as a security guard
of all things) and worst of all
Dana Plato who ended up
committing suicide in 1999.
Although
titled Celebrity Tantrums the
book actually includes as many
scandals which of course only
adds to the fun. Excellent
stuff. Lightweight but
entertaining.
