Executive Producer: Janet Street-Porter / Directors: David G. Croft (season one), Stephen Stewart (season two).

A stand up series broadcast from the London club Paramount City. Hosts were Arthur Smith (season one), Curtis Walker and Ishmael Thomas co-hosted season 2. Simon Day in his guise as Tommy Cockles also had a regular slot each week. Amongst the acts appearing were Steve Coogan, Jack Dee, Frank Skinner, Morwenna Banks, Caroline Aherne, Jo Brand, Mark Thomas, Chris Langham and bizarrely Shane Richie.

Sketch based series with a pronounced medical bias indeed Buckman and Beetles were both doctors. The writers starred and also involved were Lynda Bellingham, Peter John and Nickolas Grace.

Late night comedy documentary series in which a pair of friends travel the country in an attempt to set up their own TV station.

PLANET MIRTH

This comedy sketch series took science fiction as its theme. The regular cast were Emma Kennedy, Ben Mier, Milton Jones, Rudy Lickwood.

A themed evening of programmes celebrating 30 years of Monty Python. The programmes were 1. SKETCHES ONE (1x5m-e) Sketches performed by the team. / 3. PYTHONLAND (1x15m-e) Producer: Ralph Lee Michael Palin takes a look at locations used for Monty Python. / 4. SKETCHES TWO (1x5m-e) More team sketches / 5. THE LIFE OF BRIAN (1x95m-e) The Python's controversial film / 6. LOST PYTHON (1x10m-e) Sketches previously thought to be lost, these were from 1971. /7. Surreal, bizarre and sometimes plain strange sketch show starring Spike Milligan just beating Monty Python's Flying Circus to the screen. The Q shows ploughed the same non sequitur furrow as Python but never as consistent. Also involved were John Bluthal, Alan Clare, John Wells (Q5), Richard Ingrams (Q5), Julia Breck, Stella Tanner, Peter Jones (Q6), Jeanette Charles (Q8, Q9). See also Theres A Lot of it About.

Comedy sketch series with a mainly female cast and look at things from the female perspective. The cast included Jeni Barnett, Linda Broughton, Linda Dobell and Alison Skilbeck. Philip Bird was the token male.

A sketch special made as a lead in The Two Ronnies starring Barker, Ronnie Corbett, John Cleese, Noel Dyson and Billy Dainty. The following week Corbett had his own special Ronnie Corbett in Bed (see below).

Sketch special made as a lead in to Two Ronnies, the previous week Barker had appeared in his own special The Ronnie Barker Yearbook (see above). Ronnie Corbett was actually joined by Barker in this show.

 

THE RONNIE CORBETT SHOW

A starring solo show, stand up and the usual sketch material, for wee Ronnie Corbett. Guest stars included Rory Bremner, Philip Madoc, Frank Thornton, Richard Digance and the cross dressing Hinge and Bracket.

One off  comedy special for Hudd assisted by Freddie Jones and Joan Turner. There were some very good quality writers involved including David Nobbs and Peter Tinniswood, John Antrobus, Ned Sherrin, Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall.

RUDDY HELL! ITS HARRY AND PAUL

BBC1 / 6x30 minute episodes / 2007

Sketch show. Two of the biggest comedy names in Britain, Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse, reunite after eight years for a sketch series with a gallery of completely new characters. Also featuring were Morwenna Banks and Laura Solon.

 

RUTLAND WEEKEND TELEVISION

BBC2 / 14x30m-e / 1975-76 2 seasons plus one special

Writer: Eric Idle / Music: Neil Innes / Producer: Ian Keill

Sketch series that was 'broadcast' from Rutland. Britain's smallest county and set amid the constraints of a cash strapped TV studio, The Rutland Weekend Television of the title. Starring Eric Idle, this was the first show from a Python member following the end of that. Idle was assisted by Neil Innes, David Battley, Gwen Taylorand Henry Woolf. One sketch on this show led to the US TV Movie special The Rutles: All You Need is Cash.  

 

RYAN AND RONNIE

BBC1 / 13x30m-e 7x25m-e / 1971-73 3 seasons

A sketch series starring popular Welsh comics Ryan Davies and Ronnie Williams, the pair had appeared in several Welsh language series. Also appearing here were Margaret Williams (season one), Bryn Williams and Myfany Talog.
