Sitcom. The exploits of the wily female tugboat captain of the title and especially her rivalry with fellow tugboat owner Horatio Bullwinkle. Annie's boat was the Narcissus and Bullwinkle's was the Salamander. Interestingly Urecal was a one time opera singer.

ALONG THE WAY

This was actually two shows, Along the River and Seashore (a UK-Canada co-production) telling stories of a pair of youngsters Mark and Bella, exploring various aspects of wildlife etc, whilst the second part of the show consisted of different documentaries about aspects of Canadian life.

A variety series that was hosted by Ken Maslowsky and came from the Manitoba Theatre Club in Winnipeg. Scott Walker was a guest on one of the shows.

 

THE AMAZING WORLD OF KRESKIN

Magic/Entertainment. Mind boggling feats of magic and mind reading by the prestidigitator Kreskin. Host was Bill Luxton and celebrity guests occasionally appeared, William Shatner amongst them. The 1975 episodes were titled The New Kreskin Show.

 

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES

Period drama serial. As the title implies, a sequel to Anne of Green Gables with a now slightly older Anne teaching at Avonlea school and continuing to do good deeds with her friends Gilbert Blythe and Diana Barry. Later Anne gets the opportunity to teach a posh school in the town of Kingsport but Anne is unsure what to do.

Period drama serial. 13 years after the previous story (see above) this 2nd sequel picked up the story five years later and mainly concerning itself with the events of world war one with Anne and her friends getting involved in the war effort with Gilbert and Fred joining up (Gilbert later goes missing in action and Anne goes in search of him).

For each of the shows three year run it was known by the title above but with the relevant year tacked on the end, Arts 73 etc. 73. Hosts were Helen Hutchinson (1973), Scott Littman (1974) and Pat Patterson(1974-75)

 

ARK ON THE MOVE

AUBREY AND GUS

Children's puppet led adventure series about a young raccoon called Aubrey who after discovering he has the voice of a young boy teams up Gus a young oy, the pair embarking on a search for a young boy with the voice of a raccoon.

Narrated by Dick Thomas and with Gary Lay, Lloyd Jones and Norma MacMillan (Voice).

 

AUDOBON WILDLIFE THEATRE

Executive Producer: Ralph C. Ellis / Producers: Dan Gibson, Gerald Kedes / Music: Ron Harrison

Wildlife. Studies of rare birds and other animals, the series also featured not only Canadian material but Wildlife films from around the world. Dan Gibson was the main Canadian talent amongst the film makers.
