Canadian General Electric (hence the title), the show was headlined by the 21
strong Leslie Bell singers the series had been popular on radio since 1948. The
show also underwent two title changes C.G.E. Showtime and then just Showtime.
Regular performers included Leslie Bell, The Howard Cable Orchestra, Elmer
Eisler, Shirley Harmer, Don Garrard, Robert Goulet and Gloria Lambert. There was
a brief 1957 spin off called Showtime with Howard Cable.
