Drama series. Episodes in the lives of a group of people living in Nanko in British Columbia. Stories usually revolved around ranch owner Smith and his family. After its initial 13 episode run in 1960 the show appeared sporadically from 1964 onwards.

A series offering all manner of children's cartoon, had a twist in that it was hosted by a puppet (Malcolm the Dog created by John Keogh).

 

A CASE FOR THE COURT

CBC / x30m-e / 1960-62 (6 July 60 - 24 September 62) black and white

Producer: George Dick

A series of courtroom dramas in which the lawyers and judges were real with only the cases being fictional. One interesting aspect was the fact that four members of the viewing public acted as the jury.

Variety series designed to promote new Canadian talent. The show was hosted by Tommy Hunter.

The umbrella title for a long running series of dramas. The first production was Justice by John Galsworthy. The title later changed to Ford Television Theatre.

A cooking show with well known celebrities showing off their culinary skills.

 

THE C.G.E SHOW

CBC / x30m-e / 1952-59 black and white

Producers: Drew Crossan, Harvey Hart, Don Hudson, Len Casey

Variety series sponsored by Canadian General Electric (hence the title), the show was headlined by the 21 strong Leslie Bell singers the series had been popular on radio since 1948. The show also underwent two title changes C.G.E. Showtime and then just Showtime. Regular performers included Leslie Bell, The Howard Cable Orchestra, Elmer Eisler, Shirley Harmer, Don Garrard, Robert Goulet and Gloria Lambert. There was a brief 1957 spin off called Showtime with Howard Cable.

CHRYSLER FESTIVAL

Variety series broadcast from Loew's Uptown Theatre in Toronto. Hosted by Elaine Grand and Hume Cronyn. Some big names appeared including the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Earth Kitt, Shirley Jones, Peter Sellers, Jose Greco, Dorothy Dandridge, Kaye Ballard and the Oscar Peterson Trio.

Scifi drama series. Alien Ethaniel travels to Earth to try and stop a fellow alien David Banning carrying out a series of assassinations, after Banning shoots his craft down Ethaniel loses his memory and is helped by psychologist Laura Keating. The pair try to find out about Ethaniel's past, pursued by Banning who is desperate to kill Ethaniel.

Sketch series with Barrie Baldaro, Ted Zeigler, Joan Stuart, George Carron and Dave Broadfoot. A kind of TV version of the radio show Funny You Should Say That. There was a sequel the following year called Comedy Crackers, this ran 14 February - 16 September 1970 and went out on Wednesdays at 10.30pm. The same people were involved in this show.

Concert series featuring prominent Canadian country music acts.  Hosts were Don Tremaine (1970-73) and Mike Graham (1973-74). The two locations used in the show were the Dartmouth High School in Nova Scotia (until 1972) and then Dartmouth's Prince Arthur High School.
