A music show starring the former Blood, Sweat and Tears singer in a number of live in the studio performances. Also involved were guitarist Ken Marco, keyboard player William Smith, bassist Paul Stalworth and drummer 'Spider-Web' Rice.

Children's educational series that saw former cast members of Degrassi Street travel around Canadian schools talking about the big teen issues Sex, Drugs etc. Cast members taking part included Angela Deiseach, Maureen Deiseach, Rebecca Haines, Neil Hope, Pat Mastroiannui, Maureen McKay, Amanda Stepto and Stacie Mistysyn.

Musical entertainment series starring the former Mama's and the Papa's singer Denny Doherty, there were guest appearances from the other M and P's John and Michelle Phillips (minus Cass Elliot who had died in 1972). John Sebastian also appeared.

Rock music show starring Dianne Heatherington. Guest stars included Sweet Honey Mead, North Wild Rice and Chilliwack.

 

DISCOVERIES

Children's educational series, dealing mostly with science and natural history, the show  was presented by Dick Sutton, Uncle 'Stan' Westaway and Rod McKenzie.

 

DISTINGUISHED CANADIANS

CBC / x30m-e / 1972 (30 April - 21 August)

Producer: Ain Soodor

Interviews with important Canadians presented by John David Hamilton, the people involved were generally not celebrities but people like historian Ramsay Cook and entomologist Allison DeForrest Pickett. 

 

DR SIMON LOCKE

Medical drama series. No budget tales if newly qualified doctor Simon Locke in the small town of Dixon Mills. Later in season two the title changed to Police Surgeon when Locke moved to the city to work mostly with the Police.

Children's sketch series based around young Billy Meek and the contents of his imagination. Robin Eveson played Billy Meek and featured amongst the cast were a young John Candy, Gilda Radner, Bob McKenna, Rosemary Radcliffe, Fiona Reid and Dan Hennessey.

This was a summer fill in anthology series of productions previously seen on General Motors Theatre. After the 1955 run it returned the following year for two more repeats.

Crime drama series. Super straight mountie Benton Fraser finds himself working in Chicago where he is teamed up with a detective Ray Vecchio.Fraser had a pet husky dog called Diefenbaker who just happened to be deaf but was able to lip read. Following the end of the second season the show was cancelled but thanks to overseas (especially the BBC in the UK) the show rose phoenix like for one more season.
