Meanwhile
an official at Galactic
HQ called Selestru is in
possession of a 20 year
old garbled message
warning of a race called
"The Daleks"
and their connection to
the NFS plague which is
currently ravaging the
galaxy - he is on a
personal crusade to
locate these beings who
he believes are
responsible and he
questions the original
sender of the message
who has been found alive
in cryogenic suspension.
Back
on the planet the
Wardens request
off-world backup to
replace team members
killed in the earlier
battle but when the
spaceship arrives the
human captain declares
the planet under his
control and reveals he
is in alliance with the
Daleks.
Comments
The story does not
feature the Doctor or
any companions.
The only aspect
which beds it into the
"Doctor Who
Universe" is of
course the inclusion of
the Daleks.
This did not
detract from the story
though as it was
interesting and well
acted with natural
sounding dialogue.
The new recruit
Kaymee was the stand-out
character and the
actress put a lot of
personality into the
role.
Some of the early
scenes provide a recap
of events from the
earlier volumes in this
series but it doesn't
appear to be essential
to know the details of
those stories as this
adventure starts with
new situations several
decades later.
This
is the first of six CD's
telling this story - but
each chapter is NOT a
self-contained story -
it ends with a
cliffhanger - therefore
to hear the full story
you would have to
purchase all six CD's
which would work out
quite expensive.
