April 2006-continuing
Children's weekday magazine show for the holiday periods, starting with
Easter 2006; The show had an
interactive magazine format that explored the opportunities and the
challenges faced by youngsters as they grow older. Crossing the
conventional boundaries of a TV studio, Level Up uses a multi-platform
formula that brings children together from across the UK and recognises
what they have to offer, letting them air their views, talk about issues
and give opinions, as well as have a lot of fun. While Glitches And
Fixes gives the young viewers the chance to advise each other and
face the hurdles of everyday life via the web site, 12 young, handpicked
Level Up Gamers join Sam and Mark on the show via webcam to help guide
their peers through their daily challenges. Online they keep daily blogs
and, armed with a DV camera, they film important occasions in their
lives. On the same note, The Next Level gives the audience the chance to
step up to the next stage and try the job of their dreams, bringing
their own insight to it.
Back in the studio, young
experts discuss topics as varied as pets, sport, fashion, cooking and
much more, while Sam and Mark step back in time, and fast forward into
the future, to research how young people’s most loved technology and
gadgets have evolved and explore, with the audience, where they might go
next.
