Newsround (since 8 October 1987). Initially twice weekly the show went to every weekday in 1979.
Spin offs have been Newsround
Weekly(1977-78 BBC1) and the still continuing Newsround Extra (BBC1 since 1981) looking at a particular story in more
depth; Newsround Investigates (which began on Monday 8 May 2006 @
5.00pm) was for the first time a half hour show, more indepth than usual
(hosted by Lizo Mzimba) and tackling topics such as Arson.
