documentary that looked at the aftermath of a
nuclear attack. The programme was considered
so shocking the BBC top brass shelved it, although
it eventually received its TV premiere in 1985.
Watkins used a mainly amateur cast and he had
employed the same technique on the previous
years excellent Culloden.
