MILLIONAIRE: A MAJOR FRAUD

The story of how Major Charles Ingram managed to cheat on the quiz show WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE and "win" the million pound top prize in 2001. Using extensive footage from the infamous and previously unbroadcast edition of the programme it shows how the scam worked with his accomplice in the contestants row using a system of coughs. Interviews were interspersed with technical staff and other potential contestants who became suspicious of the major during the filming. A trial finished a few weeks earlier had found Charles Ingram and his wife, and their accomplice, Tecwen Whittock guilty.
