This warts-and-all documentary series focused on E Division of the Thames Valley Police as they patrolled the
streets of Reading and its environs over a nine-month period. Among various incidents, it showed the force
organizing a stake-out for a planned robbery and, at the other extreme, saw officers accused of beating up a
drunk. One detective broke down in tears after being demoted, but the most controversial of the 11 episodes
dealt with a rape case in which police treatment of the victim brought howls of protest.
