Three part docu-drama Speer and Hitler: The Devil’s Architect is released on DVD on 6 June in a two disc set. Albert Speer was the man who Hitler decided would build his vision of a new world. The brilliant architect and cultivated intellectual initially aligned himself with the man who would go on to become the real embodiment of evil throughout the world but later turned against his mentor despite spending much of the thirties and second world war building extravagant monuments and taking charge of Germany’s industry.
Starring Sebastion Koch the three-parter features rare archive and home film footage of the two men as well as interviews with Speer’s children to provide a revealing portrait behind the portrayals of Hitler and his architect. Extras include a 90 minute extra doco called “Epilogue – The Deception”.
