THE ERIC BANA SKETCH SHOW

With Bana’s star well in the ascendant the time is certainly right to revisit Eric’s 1997 very funny and frequently hilarious sketch series , hot on the heels of his time in Full Frontal and his Logie for for funniest human. Australia has always been able to come up with quality sketch shows and The Eric Bana show is no exception, here are all nine episodes (spread over two discs) allowing Eric full reign for his range of impersonations and creations (witness the dual impersonation of Ray Martin interviewing Big Arnie).

It’s not just Eric though there is a great supporting cast including the likes of Stephen Currie, Bob Franklin, Ros Hammond, Dave O’Neil, Robyn Butler and Michael Veitch. Standouts include

Late Night With Poida which is an absolute classic, the man with the mullet is vaguely remeniscent of the character Bana plyed in The Nugget, Eric’s asides to camera whilst driving, the documentary about amateur magician Alexander Topolino and the numerous musical send ups of acts such as R.E.M, a hilarious version of an Elvis movie. Good stuff.

Main extra is an extensive photo gallery of shots from the show.
