Hey Hey We're The Monkees

What a great release, Hey Hey We're the Monkees is an in-depth documentary on the manufactured pop band of the 1960's, put together for a TV show (The Monkees), Davy Jones (the English one), Mike Nesmith (the talented one), Micky Dolenz (the clown) and Peter Tork (the other one) ended up almost rivalling the Beatles in the popularity stakes.
This single disc mixes in new interviews, classic footage (including the band playing live - surprisingly capably considering the boys took an awful lot of stick for allegedly not playing on their records).  Best of all though are the music clips featuring classics such as Last Train to Clarksville, PLeasant Valley Sunday and of course I'm A Believer.
Hey Hey We're The Monkees is a must for any fan of both classic TV and classic pop.

The disc also includes biographies of all the band as well asa discography and the usual scene indexing.
