The Very Best of Tommy Cooper

A fantastic collection of clips of magician/comedian and all round legend Tommy Cooper.
Cooper was probably one of the most imitated comics on TV in his day, with his trademark Fez and catchphrases such as "Just Like That", Cooper was a very funny man and was pretty much universally loved by his fellow comics and the audience alike.
This release includes many of Cooper's classic routines from his numerous TV series made for Thames TV throughout the 1970's and the ealry 80's.Cooper's magic act is well to the fore but so are such delights as his one man repertory company and Tommy's Tunes where he slaughters several well known standards. There are also plenty of well known faces amongst the guest stars to enliven the proceedings, including the likes of Victor Spinetti and Hugh Paddick, whilst writers on the show included George and Mildred creators Johnnie Mortimer and Brian Cooke.
Tommy Cooper died of course on live TV on a variety show called Live From Her Majesty's after suffering a heart attack during his performance. This release is very welcome as repeats of his shows have been few and far between.
