WHEN THE BOAT COMES IN - SEASON ONE PART ONE

The mid 1970's was without question a golden age for UKTV with some of the most highly regarded shows originating from this period, this new release from Acorn media is no exception. When The Boat Comes In Series One part one is a fantastic two disc set containing the first five episodes from the BBC series (the show was first broadcast in 1976).
Fresh from his success in Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads James Bolam stars as Sgt Jack Ford who, following the end of World War One, returns to his native Gallashields on Tyneside embittered and determined to improve his lot in life. Created by James Mitchell, this release has class written all over it with these five episodes setting the scene nicely for the rest of the series (there were four series in total). A great release.

EXTRAS include production notes, a picture gallery, filmographies and scene indexing.
