CARLY SIMON: The Classic Concert Live From Marthas Vineyard

Grandstand Entertainment. Region 1. Out now to buy.

Originally seen as a HBO special in 1987 this 70 minute concert features the wonderful Carly Simon singing a collection of her best known songs on the Waterfront at Marthas Vineyard.

The first ever Carly Simon DVD (and one of only three filmed Carly  concerts in existence she is accompanied by a small but tight backing band Simon runs through such songs as Youre So Vain, Nobody Does It Better and Coming Around Again, Simons music is of the laid back, soulful, organic variety, easy on the ear and very listenable, because of the quality of the tunes and the great 5:1 surround sound The Classic Concert actually has a high re-watchability factor, essential for any DVD worth its salt.

This release also includes an extra song, The Right Thing To Do, not featured on the original HBO broadcast.  Add to this extras which include a scrapbook of rare photographs from Simons own collection, a complete discography and song lyrics and best of all a new interview with Simon and footage behind the scenes of the concert.  Good stuff.
