A DECADE UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Released by AV Channel

For any one even the slightest bit interested in the industry of the movies then this very very fascinating documentary is quite simply essential, focusing on one of the most fertile periods in recent film history, the 1970s directors Ted Demme and Richard KaGravenese have spoken to all the key players of the era, Coppola, Scorcese, Dennis Hopper, Peter Bogdanovichm Robert Altman, Sidney Lumet, Julie Christie, Jon Voight etc interspersed with archive material and clips from the key movies (Taxi Driver, Easy Rider, The Godfather et al).

By also setting the scene of what led to this influx of major talent (the European cinema of the 1960s especially the neauvelle vague cinema of France and its leading lights Jean Luc Goddard and Francois Trauffaut) you do get a real handle on the film-makers and their beliefs.
Without question one of the most informative and complete movie documentaries yet seen.

EXTRAS Main extra is an extra half hour of interviews and clips with all the same key personnel as in the main feature, there are also bios of the film-makers and various trailers for other AV Channel product.
