FINDING NEMO

2 Disc special edition. Released by Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Out now to rent/buy.

Well Pixar have done it again, another certified classic. The story, in a clamshell, sees Reef clownfish Martin  teaming up with none too bright Dory to try and rescue  his son Nemo who just happens to have been caught by a Sydney dentist. This is a superbly entertaining movie that appeals on many different levels, it looks great (CGI has never looked so good in fact), is very funny with great laugh out loud moments and unlike many animated movies it isnt overly sentimental, there are many stand out moments, including nearly all the scenes involving Dory (especially the I Speak Whale sequence), the trio of Aussie sharks who have decided to give up eating fish and the stoner sea turtle.

Also stay tuned for the very funny final touch after the end credits.
Packed to the gills with great voice overs by quality actors, many of them Australians, Marlin is voiced by Albert Brooks whilst Ellen DeGeneres is a stand out as Dory, young Nemo is voiced by Alexander Gould whilst Aussies appearing include Barry Humphries, Bruce Spence and Eric Bana as the trio of fish free sharks and Bill Hunter as the Dentist. Truly a movie with great a re-watchability factor.

EXTRAS A great package including a second disc devoted to them, main feature of disc one besides the movie is a great visual commentary from the production team that opens out to include deleted scenes and behind the scenes stuff, there is also several very excellent looped virtual aquariums on both discs. Disc two includes a documentary on The Great Barrier Reef by Jean-Michael Cousteau (complete with interruptions from the Nemo gang), an indepth doco on the making of the movie, the Nemo artists talking us through their work, a behind the scenes tour of Pixar studios and a couple of kids games. There is also a chance to take a look at early (1989) Pixar short Knick Knack in which a Christmas snowman tries to break out of his snowglobe.
