HEAVEN'S POND
Distributor: Roadshow Entertainment
Certificate: M15+ | 90 minutes
Director: Joel Vertal
Cast:
Tara Reid, Kip Pardue
Extras: No
Easter Eggs: No

When a movie is going to have just a couple of locations and is basically a two hander it needs to have a great script and quality acting – unfortunately Heaven’s Pond has neither.

In fact the only thing missing from this B-Grade thriller is a Baldwin brother which would have surely elevated it to the so bad its good category.

Tara Reid plays Julianne who gets married to Kip Pardue’s Mitch after a whirlwind romance, the pair head out to a remote island in the middle of a lake (the Heaven’s Pond of the title – the island is tiny, barely big enough for the shack they will be staying in) and before you can say “He’s behind you” Julianne has realised that Mitch is somewhat strange and plans to keep her captive on the island.

For 80 minutes not a lot happens but the finale is reasonably tense and apart from an opening flashback (featuring Meredith Baxter as Reid’s mother) the movie is set almost entirely on this tiny island but instead of feeling claustrophobic you just end up waiting for the inevitable dénouement.

No extras but does include the theatrical trailer.
