HOLLYWOOD
HOMICIDE
Released
by Columbia . Available to buy
now.
Decidedly
fun outing from Harrison Ford as
ageing homicide cop Joe Gavilan,
a man more interested in selling
real estate than solving crimes,
based in LA his young partner
K.C. (Josh Hartnett) is a would
be actor only on the force until
his big break comes along.
Full
of witty dialogue and exchanges
the movie, directed by Ron
Shelton, has the pair
investigating the high profile
murders of some rap singers, cue
some of the best sequences which
see Ford acting as a broker for
a rap star trying to buy a
mansion from a truculent (and
very old looking) Martin Landau.
Add
to the mix Ford’s psychic
girlfriend Ruby (played by Lena
Olin) and a hilarious chase on
paddle boats through a Venice
Beach canal and you have an easy
to watch and even easier to
enjoy buddy comedy. Also watch
out for cameos from the likes of
Lou Diamond Phillips (as a cop
in full drag), Robert Wagner,
Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight
and Dwight Yoakham.
EXTRAS:
Commentary from director
Shelton
and cast interviews.
