I'M WITH LUCY
Distributor: Fox Entertainment
Cast:

Rental
Extras: Yes

Thoroughly post modern romantic comedy starring Monica Potter as Lucy who has been put through the wringer by her ex-boyfriend, she is none too pleased when her sister and best friend set her up on a series of blind dates – however Lucy goes on to marry one of the five men she goes on dates with although we don’t get to discover this until the end as much of the movie is taken up with flashbacks of Lucy’s dates with the five would be grooms.

The five are a pretty unprepossessing first up is computer shop owner Barry (Henry Thomas) and then John Hannah as entomologist Doug, Anthony LaPaglia as the very boorish Bobby, former Angel star David Boreanz pups up as doctor Luke whilst Gael Garcia Bernal plays playwright Gabriel.  There are plenty of amusing moments and the dialogue is often on the money when it comes to musing on modern life and relationships but Lucy herself is a problem being hard to empathise with at times. The opening titles are a treat done in a retro 1950’s style and the soundtrack is excellent (Only With You by the Beach Boys is a gorgeous song), also watch out for an appearance by the still lovely Julie Christie.

EXTRAS: The theatrical trailer, cast filmographies, a fairly extensive photo gallery and heaps of trailers for other movies (Respiro looks fantastic).
