JANE
DOE
Released
by Universal Home Entertainment.
Available to rent.
Frantically
paced runaround kidnap thriller
made for USTV but out now to
rent over here. The still sexy
Teri Hatcher stars as the Jane
Doe a
Montana
computer expert whose teenage
son has been kidnapped by
persons unknown. Jane works for
Cy-Kor and the kidnappers want a
top secret file from the
company, there is a twist in
that Jane’s ex-husband David
(Rob Lowe) is now working for
the Defense Intelligence Agency
who are behind the kidnapping
(they have discovered that Cy-Kor’s
boss Avery (Mark Caven) is
selling secrets to foreign
powers. Jane learns that David
has been using Michael to plant
information on Jane’s computer
allowing the DIA to spy on Cy-Kor.
If
all this sounds very convoluted
that’s because it is and with
“more twists and turns than an
English country lane” ™
you’re never quite sure what
is going to happen next.
That’s not always a bad thing
of course but the best thing
about the movie is Hatcher, Lowe
is surprisingly lacklustre and
their son Michel is just a
teenage brat who needs a good
dressing down.
Entertaining
in a mindless sort of way but
not a world changing movie
that’s for sure, only extra is
a very short trailer for the
movie.
