JIMEOIN
Released by Kaleidoscope. Available  to buy now.

Long held in high regard by Australian audiences Irish born Jimeoin has proved himself to be one of the countries top stand up comics, this new 2 disc release from Kaleidoscope contains all of his second self titled series of sketch and stand up (broadcast in 1995).

Jimeoin is very relaxed and confident, travelling that Billy Conelly style line of not so much jokes but observations, often stupid but generally very funny, best parts without question are the opening five minutes or so of each show which sees Jimeoin in stand up mode in front of the studio audience; The sketches, as in all these types of shows are a ragbag of the uproariously funny, the didn’t quite work and all shades inbetween.

Jimeoin does have the benefit of having a good support on screen with him in the form of the excellent Glen Robbins as well as Michael Veitch, Brian Nankervis, Bob Franklin, Penny Baron and Stayci Taylor. Pretty good stuff.

Major extra is an hour long doco called “Standing on the Road” following Jimoin, Robbins and Russell Gilbert as they travel across country Victoria on their “Meat and Two Veg” tour.
