He Says She Says review by
Knowles and Knowles
When
Mr Feld has a heart attack he
needs someone to step in and
manage his business interests,
one of which is record label
“Felony Assault”. His
daughter Marci decides to step
in and take up the slack.
When a very vocal leading media
watchdog and Senator begins to
protest against one of the
artists signed to the label
saying that his lyrics are
obscene Marci decides to step in
and get him to apologise.
Rap artist Dr S introduces Marci
to a world she didn’t know
existed and in the process they
learn how to work together to
beat the Senator and save Mr
Felds’ business empire from
bankruptcy.
She
says This
lightweight movie verged on the
silly at times, Damon Wayons
best contribution to Marci X was
his biceps, looking like he was
on the verge of laughing
throughout much of it, he does
have one good scene when he
sings his rap song Power in My
Pants complete with pant related
fireworks. Lisa Kudrow as the
spoilt Jewish princess was just
painfully bad though.
He
says As
hard as this was to watch, we
resisted the urge to Fast
Forward. Looking back, this was
a bad decision on our part. Not
one of the famous actors that
appear was able to pull this
story out of the downward spiral
that begins early on. The story
has no bite, little humour, and
overdone stereotypes. The actors
are stiff, and play directly to
their stereotypes rather than
against them. You have to feel
sorry for the actors in this
movie. Viewers can see it and
forget about it the minute it
finishes, but the cast are going
to have to live with this for
the rest of their lives.
