This short made for cable TV thriller aims for a sultry almost Basic Instinct type feel and occasionally almost pulls it off despite an opening title sequence that practically gives away the whole plot.

Melanie Griffith headlines as middle aged Sara living in France with her much younger boyfriend Jack and working as a courier for a very dodgy black marketeer George (a slimy Art Malik), Sara’s problems really start when a rare coin she is delivering is stolen and while she is away Jack begins an affair with the much younger Jenny (Rachel Leigh Cook) who works in a jewellery shop, this sets in motion a whole chain of treacherous events of cross and double cross.

Quite convoluted and generally pretty entertaining and as always with this type of movie there are plenty of twists along the way.

It also has the benefit of a good quality cast, the excellent Malcolm McDowell pops up in a small role as a coin collector, the up and coming Hugh Dancy (from Blackhawk Down) has the role of Jack pretty much down whilst Rachel Leigh Cook looks far too young to be involved in such raunchy goings on.

On the downside there is some pretty shonky editing here and there (mostly around the snipping of the ad bumpers).

Entertaining enough but unlikely to linger long in the memory once it’s over.
