Living
in
Cleveland
’s seedy
East Side
are a group of deadbeat
petty crims who think they have
come up with the ultimate heist
plan. Produced by Stephen
Soderburgh and George Clooney
Welcome to Collinwood is the
debut feature from brothers
Anthony and Joe Russo. Full of
wry humour the movie tracks the
misfortunes of the crooks as
they plot their way to a hoped
for fortune. The gang include
George Clooney as a paraplegic
wheelchair bound safecracker,
Sam Rockwell (who starred in
Clooney’s Confessions of a
Dangerous Mind) as arrogant
prizefighter Pero, William H.
Macy as single dad Riley (who
carries his young baby son
around with him everywhere),
Andrew Davoli plays gigolo Basil
and Isiah Washington plays the
hip
Leon
.
Despite
a somewhat slow pace the movie
certainly entertains and is
actually pretty funny, mixing as
it does dramatic moments with
out and out slapstick and with a
cast that also includes Jennifer
Esposito, Gabrielle Union and
Soderburgh regular Luis Guzman
you know you are on solid
ground.
EXTRAS
include voice-over less behind
the scenes footage, cast
interviews and a theatrical
trailer.
