“Maddy – we are so grounded”.

ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Jennifer (Flashdance) Beals, Sam (son of Jason) Robards, Kristin Stewart, Corbin Bleu, Max Thieriot, John Carroll Lynch

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

When her rock climber dad is left paralysed in his legs and needing $250,000 for an experimental operation you Maddy (Kristen Stewart) enlists the help of two boys, Gus (Max Thieriot) and Austin (Corbin Bleu), both of whom have a major crush on Maddy, to pull off a heist on the bank where her mother is a security consultant.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

Combining elements of Ocean’s Eleven and The Italian Job, Catch That Kid entertains enormously and cleverly takes all the elements of adult heist movies and turns in a great family flick. The subplot about Gus and Austin both being in love with Maddy allows for a good injection of humour and there is also a healthy dose of hi-tech gadgetry to pull in the Spy Kids crowd.

Despite the morally unsound premise (hey kids no matter how bad the situation, robbing banks is not a good idea!) Catch That Kid will be enjoyed by the kids and contains plenty to keep adults entertained too.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?There are deleted scenes of varying quality but best of all is the five minute feature Gine Nuts starring Scrat from the movie Ice Age trying to fit one more nut into his collection with disastrous consequences – totally unexpected and a real treat!
