WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

“Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star” is about Dickie (David Spade) a former childhood actor, who after countless attempts to kick-start his acting career finally scores a chance to get back into acting. All he has to do to get the gig is relive his childhood as a normal child.

To this end he hires a normal family to show him what he missed out on. After sorting out some family problems he gets the job, but realizes what he really wants is a real life not an acting career and goes back to his hire family to start a new life.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

“Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star” is a decent movie, good for a few quick laughs, but seems to be a feel good kids movie with adult content. The film contains a few cameos from real child stars from the late seventies.  Not quite as good as David Spade’s other films, but worth watching.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?

The extra features on the DVD are reasonable including a gag reel, commentary from Director and actors, deleted scenes, making of documentaries as well as a funny music video featuring stars of kids shows from the seventies and eighties.
