ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Rebecca Gibney

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

This four disc box set pulls together the four feature length crime dramas that made up series two of Halifax FP.  The four stories see Jane Halifax ( a forensic pathologist) investigating a wealthy socialite accused of murdering her father (Lies of the Mind); Tangling with a serial rapist in Without Consent; Having to deal with a stop at nothing stalker in Cradle and All and the re-appearance of old flame Jonah Cole (Steve Bisley) and the realization that he may just be a killer.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

Halifax is one of the best crime dramas Australian TV has produced in recent years, it’s feature length pacing allowing for the plots to really pull you in. Rebecca Gibney as Halifax pretty much had the role created for her by Roger Simpson and as such really inhabits her role. The episodes featured here are as much about the inner workings of the mind as they are typical crime thrillers, although there is plenty of the whodunit element to keep us guessing.  Very reasonably priced for a four disc box set Halifax FP: Dangerous Minds is well worth a look.
