WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
Compelling
documentaries going deep inside
the Third Reich and into the
lives of some of Hitler's key
personnel looking at what drove
them to do the things they did,
how they earned Hitler's trust
and how most of them remained
unrepentant right to the very
end of their lives.
SO
IS IT ANY GOOD?
These
well researched documentaries from German TV should give us the last
word on one of the darkest periods of the 20th Century. Presented by
Guido Knopp the two editions (both two disc collections) each tackle a
different aspect of Hitler's regime, volume one looks at Hitler's
Henchmen, his right hand men who would do his dirty work for him
from Himmler, Goebbels, Hess and Goring and even Hitler's architect
Speer, evil men all who under Hitler let their evil side take full reign
of their lives.
Volume
two, Hitler's Warriors, looks at his men on the fighting front
from Rommel to Keitel to Paulus. Full of fascinating and sometimes heart
wrenching to watch footage these two releases provide ample proof of the
evil of man and are vital viewing for today's younger generation who are
in danger of forgetting what world war 2 was all about.
