WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

One of the staples of NBC’s line up since 1990 Law and Order cleverly mixes two genres, the police procedural and the legal drama, looking at both the cops catching the crooks and the lawyers who send them down.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

Hard to believe that Law and Order has been on the air for 14 years now, what’s not hard to believe though is that it is still one of the best shows on the box, after having released seasons one and two on DVD Universal have leaped forward to the latest season (the 14th), as always the action is pretty straightforward the cops – led by Jerry Orbach and Jesse L. Martin catch the crooks whilst the lawyers headed up by Sam Waterston as Executive ADA Jack McCoy do their best to see them behind bars.

Always blessed with quality scripts Law and Order is an entertaining slice of TV drama with a top flight cast there are some powerful episodes on this 3 disc (double sided) collection, also worthy of mention is the very nice packaging, a digipack encased in a clear plastic/acetate sleeve, very smooth looking.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?

Extras include a 15 minute profile of Jesse L. Martin, a 7 minute one on Fred Thompson, next up is a set tour with Jerry Orbach and an interview with forensic scientist Park Dietz and finally a promo for upcoming profiles of the cast.  Also included is a great booklet giving you a run down on all the episodes.
