IN IT WE KNOW?
Jimmy
Kimmel, Adam Carolla
WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
As
soon as the hilarious theme tune
and opening credits kick in
featuring scantily clad girls
you know just what you are in
for with The Man Show. Hosted by
Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla
The Man Show (seen on Comedy
Central) takes a very sideways
look at being a man, shot in
front of a studio audience Jimmy
and Adam crack jokes, perform
sketches and allow near naked
women to drape themselves all
over them. Series 2 broadcast in
2000 featured the very hilarious
"Man Show Boy" (the
true stand out of the series)
taking a supposedly 11 year old
boy out on the street to ask
some very rude and personal
questions to passers by. Other
segments included Jimmy's
"Father and Son" heart
to hearts with his own son as
well as Adam's Karl Malone
impersonation. Not to mention
girls on trampolines of course.
SO
IS IT ANY GOOD?
This
6 disc set from Eagle Vision includes all the episodes from season two
(however there does seem to be some inconsistencies with the episodes on
the box not correlating to the episodes on the discs), The Man Show is
pretty outrageous stuff, very very funny though.
I
suppose some people will be highly offended by the show taking as it
does so many stereotypical ideas of men and what they think of women and
running away with them, overall though Jimmy Kimmell and Adam Corrolla
are very quick to poke fun at themselves first. The Man Show does have
plenty of un-pc moments from the Swearing to the very gratuitous nudity
(which for some reason is blurred out) but it's actually a breath of
fresh air and an obvious reaction to these ultra politically correct
times we live in.
Probably
not one to watch one with grandma but certainly perfect for getting the
mates around to watch with beer and pizza.
ANY
SPECIAL FEATURES?
The
special features are all on disc 6 and consist mostly of promo's for the
show, some Karl Malone segments, a send up of The Osbornes called The
Juggbournes, but best of all is an on the street segment called Tobias
Cats in which Adam plays Tobias who has a collection of mind reading
cats, very funny. There are also some extended Girls on Trampolines
moments.
