MAN TROUBLE
Distributor: MRA Entertainment
Certificate: M15+ | 95 minutes
Director
: Bob Rafaelson
Cast:
Jack Nicholson, Ellen Barkin, Harry Dean Stanton, Beverly D’Angelo
Extras: Yes

Back in the early 1990’s it looked like Jack Nicholson was content to trade on his familiar Devilish persona, more in the newspapers than he was being seen on screen – Man Trouble though, made in 1992, was somewhat of a return to form.

Nicholson plays Harry Bliss, owner of the House of Bliss Guard Dog agency, who is hired to look after classical singer Joan Spruce (Ellen Barkin) when she starts receiving threats against her life.

Man Trouble is a mostly entertaining mix of comedy and suspense, Harry is pretty quick to crack onto Joan, despite the fact that she may be the target of a serial killer and of course there’s plenty of humour in Harry’s lack of dog handling skills.

Directed by Bob “Five Easy Pieces” Rafaelson Man Trouble also has much to enjoy in the performances of the supporting players especially the always excellently twitchy Harry Dean Stanton and Beverly D’Angelo as Joan’s sister Andy. Worth watching.

EXTRAS: Trailer and cast profiles.
