WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

One of the funniest fellows on the box this new release from Kaleidoscope brings us all 8 episodes of series two of Shaun Micallef’s sketch comedy show.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

There has been some very funny Aussie sketch comedy over the years with the likes of Fast Forward, Big Girls Blouse etc Shaun Micallef knocks spots off the lot of them, obviously a very intelligent guy who doesn’t take shots at easy targets and manages a nice line in surrealism (the sketch about Dracula moving to the East Coast to take on a job as assistant manager to a footy team is just too funny for words) Micallef and his co-writer Gary McCaffrie mine a seemingly bottomless well of wit. Watch out for the reappearance of Full Frontal’s actor David McGann who appears in the popular TV show District Attorney Ferguson.

Even the sleeve notes on the back of the DVD case are excellent. Not sure why Kaleidoscope chose to release series two first (not that we are complaining though) but hopefully they have plans to bring out series one and three. In a word – very very funny (no hang on that’s three words) – in a word… hysterical.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?

Extras include a witty commentary on a few of the episodes from Micallef, co-writer Gary McCaffrie and co-star Roz Hammond as well as a whole heap of never seen before sketches, there is also a photo gallery and a bonus bunny.
