SO
IS IT ANY GOOD?
This
spirited, free wheeling stage production proves that Hugh Jackman is
more then just an action hero, Jack is a proper song and dance man ( he
followed up this role with another musical The Boy From Oz where he
played Peter Allen ) he is also backed by a fine supporting cast
especially the always excellent Maureen Lipman and of course with songs
like Oh What A Beautiful Morning, Surrey With The Fringe On Top and
Oklahoma you can’t go far wrong.
Director
Nunn’s stage production is first rate too, with a nicely styled set
design that harks back to the original 1950s production, this is a
nicely family centric release that appeals on several levels and
hopefully the presence of Jackman with ensure it is seen by a wide
audience.
