WHAT’S
IT ABOUT THEN?
Whilst
working on an archaeological dig
in the Dordogne Valley of France
a group of archaeologists
discover a handwritten cry for
help dated 2
April 1357
from their own dig leader
Professor Edward Johnson (Billy
Connolly) who has mysteriously
disappeared. Discovering that
the sinister ITC Corporation
holds the key to traveling back
to medieval times, the gang led
by Johnson’s son Chris (Paul
Walker) and assistant professor
Andre Marek (Gerard Butler)
embark on a rescue mission, they
find themselves in the middle of
a bloody conflict between the
French and the English…
SO
IS IT ANY GOOD?
Timeline,
based on the novel by Michael Crichton, offers plenty of excitement
without fully engaging the brain or the heart; Certainly a bit heavy on
the clichés and with some strange casting decisions, the Scottish Billy
Connolly (who is surely feathering his nest with his numerous roles
these days) as the father of the blue eyed American boy Paul Walker
(from The Fast and the Furious). Timeline does entertain whilst it is on
though.
