ANYONE IN IT WE KNOW?

Robert Stack

WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

Running for 14 years (from 1988 to 2002) Unsolved Mysteries helped try and shed light on all manner of strange and bizarre mysteries and hosted by Robert “Maybe You Can Solve A Mystery” Stack for most of it’s run. First Look media have decided to release a whole raft of box sets featuring classic episodes from the series. Cleverly they have decided to theme the releases and the first two off the blocks are UFO’s and Ghosts.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

The UFO’S 26 episode collection spread over four discs covers such stalwarts of the UFO scene as Roswell and Area 51, The Face on Mars, Crop Circles, Alien Abductions and the Nazca Lines. All manner of theories are proposed and there are interviews with straight faced witnesses galore and they are all firmly convinced that aliens are amongst us.

GHOSTS offers up another four discs of prime episodes and again the delights are pretty much the same, famous cases such as the Mary Celeste, The Queen Mary Ghosts, Lizzie Borden’s House are given a thorough going over with interviews with ghost experts and the like.

Now depending on your mind set you will either believe that every story on these discs are true or that a certain amount of dramatic licence has been used to focus on peoples need for rational explanations for the unexplainable, we are firmly in the latter camp but these are still more than nicely entertaining releases and well worth checking out.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?

Each box set has an okay set of extras and featured on both is a 15 minute tribute to Robert Stack who unfortunately died in 2003, other bonus features include a short segment with producers John Cosgrove and Terry Dunn Meurer; stacks of commentaries and behind the scenes footage of a couple of “solves”.
