WHAT’S IT ABOUT THEN?

A 2 disc special showcasing the best bits from the 70’s specials of the iconic Paul Hogan, with all of his famous characters on show.

SO IS IT ANY GOOD?

Another stunning entry in the series of TV releases from Sony and Channel 9 highlighting the best of their light entertainment/comedy material. Hoges is a TV legend and this 2 disc set pulls together the best of his material from the late 70’s, disc one has the best of Hogan specials from 1977, 78 and 79 and disc two features a further two specials The Prophecies of Hoges and An Evening With Hoges, funnier than a convention full of stand up comics and very 1970’s, the only PC material you’ll find here is when Perc the wino tries to hide from the local bobby; Hoges is a full on bloke too and doesn’t miss a chance to feature a bikini clad babe or a close up of Delvene’s bum but he does have some great characters to call upon from crap stuntman Leo Wanker, dodgy magician Luigi the Unbelievable and the Chaplinesque Perc the Wino.

Most importantly though is his character of Hoges, the sleeveless footy top, work shorts and footy socks wearing full blown icon, his suburban escapades with the equally brilliant slack jawed Strop (John Cornell) are the stuff of TV legend, mostly set in Hoges run down kitchen or bedsit their surreal conversations are hysterical.

So for some top 70’s crumpet (besides the delectable Delvene, the show also features Lynda Stoner and Karen Pini) and some hilarious moments then make sure you snap up the Best of Hoges.

ANY SPECIAL FEATURES?

Extras feature more sketches from the Hogan Archives, disc one has four segments each focusing on a different topic; These are News, Career, Culture and Television. Disc 2 features 9 short sketches collectively entitled the thoughts of Hoges.
